It’s always nice to start with a blank canvas and for our latest T6.1 camper conversion, that’s exactly what we had! A brand new T6.1 straight from the factory and ready for the full Redknot Campers conversion treatment.

Client's Requirements

James approached Redknot Campers with an open mind on layouts and finishes but a clear vision of creating a campervan that offered features and amenities that would allow James to explore in both comfort and style. We agreed on the following priorities for the project:

• Comfortable sleeping and seating arrangements.
• A functional kitchenette for cooking and food storage.
• A compact yet efficient bathroom setup.
• Solar power system for off-grid capabilities.

Project Execution

Design Phase

• Consultation: Redknot Campers initiated the project with a comprehensive consultation to understand James’s lifestyle, preferences, and travel goals. This helped in tailoring the design to his specific needs.
• Conceptualisation: A detailed campervan layout and design were created, incorporating all the required features while optimising space usage for comfort and functionality.

Conversion Phase

• Interior Construction: The interior of the Transporter T6.1 was completely transformed. This included custom-built Birch ply furniture and cabinetry delivered on our in-house CNC machine. Faux leather upholstered seating and material choices were carefully selected for both aesthetics and durability.
• Kitchenette: A compact but fully equipped kitchenette was installed, featuring a CAN sink and twin gas stove, 50L 12V refrigerator, and ample storage for utensils and provisions.
• Sleeping Arrangements: The campervan was designed to comfortably sleep two, with a foldable bed system that allowed for both sitting and sleeping configurations.
• Electrical & Water System: We used our own patent pending Axis conversion module to provide the 12V, 240V electrical systems, gas and cold water setup. Utilising industry leading Victron and CTEK componentry, the plug and play Axis module was then connected up to power the lighting, appliances, gas hob and water feed to the sink. USB charging ports and electrical outlets were strategically placed for convenience.
• Pop Top: A Reimo elevating roof was installed to provide additional headspace in the living area and an additional bed.
• Storage Solutions: Storage compartments were designed to accommodate outdoor equipment, clothing, and personal belongings
• Flooring: High-quality, easy-to-clean Altro Vinyl flooring was installed to withstand the rigours of outdoor adventures

Aesthetics and Finishing

• Interior Design: The interior design was meticulously executed, combining functionality with aesthetics. A thoughtful colour scheme of light blue furniture and burnt orange faux leather provided a light, cozy and inviting atmosphere.
• Flooring: High-quality, easy-to-clean flooring was installed to withstand the rigours of outdoor adventures.
